Story Time at the Jackson County Fair!
Herman the Mouse made some new friends at the fair!
I read my books to some very good listeners in Black
River Falls last week. I enjoyed telling them about writing
and illustrating and they loved taking home a Herman bookmark
and spider sticker. Thank you to the Jackson County Fair for having me!
Join Tammy Brown, local Author Illustrator at the Jackson County Fair in Black River Falls. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it! Please post any of your comments or reviews on my website, the publisher's website or anywhere you may have purchased "Herman the Mouse." All reviews help promote me as a new author very much!! Thanks!
My publisher asked me to write a couple blog posts for their website blog. The first one is posted. Check it out!: http://blog.archwaypublishing.com/illustration-transformation/. The second one will be out next month on promoting my book. Any comments or reviews on my book are welcome on this website and where you may have purchased one. They are very much appreciated and really do help me promote Herman! Thanks!
There was no better time to have a book signing in Arizona than a February. It meant time not spent in the cold of Wisconsin! My Lake Havasu City book signing was a success! We sold out of books before my first reading! Thank you to Monica Krug and her quilt shop for hosting. What a beautiful shop, people, and city!
Herman stowed away in my suitcase! It sure looks like he is enjoying the sun and pool! He enjoyed Jamacia so much I let him stay with the resort and our lovely butler that took such good care of us. She has a two year old that Herman was looking forward to meeting!
I recieved two giant thank you notes from the kindergarten classes at the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Elementary Schools the other day. What a nice surprise. That wasn't the best part. There were individual thank you's from every student as well! Every one had a thank you, and drawing on them. What creative minds! Excellent penmanship and artistic skills too! I couldn't get a photo with all the cards in, but here is just a sampling. I will hang a bunch on the wall by my drawing table! Thanks kids!
Our weekend in Algona was a success! Herman started the tour early Friday morning before school even started. I did a career talk to those interested at the Algona Middle School. I talked about what it was like to publish a children's book and the steps on how I did it. Then I went to the Bryant Elementary School and read to the two third grade classrooms. My nephew Jacob is a student there and we went to read to his class for his birthday! After school I read to Melissa's Daycare. The kids love to point out where my hidden spider is on every page. On Saturday the Algona Public Library hosted a Book Signing/Reading for me. It was a busy weekend, but so much fun! A special thanks to my family there for being such awesome hosts, as usual, and thanks to Algona for your welcoming hospitality!
Hartley - Melvin - Sanborn Elementray School
It was such a pleasure to spend the day with this school. I read to kids from Head Start to 4th grade. I read my book 11 times in one afternoon! What an amazing group of students!! They had some amazing questions. I have no doubt there will be some budding new Author/Illustrators to watch for from Hartley - Melvin - Sanborn!
